March 3, 2025: In a bid to combat substance abuse among youth, the District Administration Thoubal, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office and Zonal Education Office, organized a one-day awareness program at Athokpam High School and Sophia English School, Thoubal.
Around 210 students actively participated in the program, which included a poster campaign at Athokpam High School. Senior Counselor Phajaton and Oken Naoriya from IRCA Thoubal spoke about the implementation of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, de-addiction centers, and the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Launched on August 15, 2020, by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan aims to make India drug-free. The District Social Welfare Office Thoubal, along with various organizations, continues to conduct awareness programs in schools and local clubs to educate youth on the dangers of substance abuse.
