A month-long training initiative aimed at enhancing child care, education, and nutrition delivery under the Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi programme commenced in Kakching with the completion of its first batch on Friday.
Officials said 100 Anganwadi workers were trained during the three-day programme, held from August 6 to 8 at the Library and Information Centre.
The district administration, in collaboration with ICDS Cell Kakching, plans to train a total of 362 workers in four batches. The second and third batches, each comprising 100 participants, are scheduled for August 18–20 and August 25–27, while the final batch of 62 will train from August 28–30.
Authorities informed that the training covered early childhood care, nutrition distribution, and tackling malnutrition and anaemia.
Sessions also included ‘Aadharshila’ and ‘Navchetana’ ECCE frameworks, with emphasis on inclusive learning for differently-abled children.
