A full-dress rehearsal in connection with the upcoming 77th Republic Day celebrations was conducted today at Kangla, Imphal, with elaborate participation from security forces, students, and cultural groups. Similar rehearsals were also held at all district headquarters across Manipur to ensure coordinated and smooth conduct of the national event.
The rehearsal at Kangla featured marching contingents from various security forces, Army veterans, NCC cadets, school students, and cultural troupes, all displaying discipline and synchronisation ahead of the main celebration.
According to official information, a total of 14 security personnel of different ranks are slated to receive the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (Republic Day–2025), the Medal for Meritorious Service (Republic Day–2025), and the Medal for Meritorious Service (Independence Day–2025).
Key ceremonial components, including parade inspection, band displays, mass drill performances, and cultural presentations, were rehearsed in detail to ensure timely execution on Republic Day. Senior police and Army officials were present during the rehearsal to supervise proceedings and review the overall arrangements.
The programme concluded in an orderly manner, reflecting the preparedness, coordination, and collective commitment of all participating units to mark Republic Day with pride and dignity across the state.
