Jan. 30, 2025: Security forces in Manipur arrested four individuals in two separate incidents—two suspected cadres of RPF/PLA and two active members of PREPAK(PRO) on Wednesday.
The two cadres of RPF/PLA were arrested in and around Paona Bazar, involved in extortion activities, according to Manipur Police, and identified as Nepram Bothe Meitei (24) and Yengkhom Gyandas Singh @ Dinku @ Chaningkhomba (24). One .32 pistol along with one magazine loaded with seven rounds of 7.65 ammunition, two mobile handsets, one wallet, a sum of Rs. 6,210, one Aadhaar card, and one two-wheeler were recovered from the arrested persons.
Meanwhile, the two PREPAK(PRO) members were arrested from Tentha under Khongjom Police Station in Thoubal District, and the arrested persons have been identified as Leishangthem Hemanta Singh @ Leishemba (41) and Kiyam Open Meitei @ Penthokpa (41).
