In a new political development in the state, at least 25 ruling MLAs, including 2 from JDU, are currently underway in a meeting at the official quarter of BJP leader and MLA Th. Bishwajit, located at Babupura, Imphal.
The meeting is speculated to be for the formation of a popular elected government as per the people’s demands. However, none of the MLAs have divulged any information regarding the meeting.
Mention may be made here that earlier, on May 28, at least 10 MLAs headed to Raj Bhavan and met the Manipur Governor and Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, where Heirok MLA Th. Radheshyam informed the media that 44 MLAs are ready for the formation of a popular government as per the people’s wishes and demands. On the same day, following a central call, Manipur Speaker Th. Satyabrata Singh also left for Delhi to meet central leaders to discuss the current political issues.
