In a major crackdown on illegal liquor transportation, a joint team of Manipur Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) seized 2,500 litres of Distilled Indigenous Country (DIC) liquor on May 7 at the Naka point of Chiru Lamkhai near Sangaithel Outpost in Imphal West.
The liquor was found in the possession of two individuals — Dithaipou Golmei (32) and Poujuanlung Kamei (39) — during a routine check. The contraband was being transported in their respective four-wheeler vehicles.
Authorities have initiated further legal procedures in connection with the seizure.
