In a coordinated operation, Indian authorities deported 27 Myanmar nationals, including a minor, via the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge at Moreh today. The individuals had entered India illegally and were detained at the foreign detention centre in Sajiwa Jail, Imphal, after serving their jail terms.
Officials from Tengnoupal District Administration, Moreh Police, Indian Immigration, and 5 Assam Rifles supervised the handover to Myanmar immigration officers. This move underscores India’s strict stance on illegal immigration and continued cooperation with Myanmar on border security.
