Thoubal, Dec 03: The Heirok Apunba Meira Paibi organised its “2nd Foundation Day” at Heirok Part-II, Bamol Leikai Community Hall, on Saturday.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Leimapokpam Amitkumar, Officer-in-Charge of Heirok Police Station; Thokchom Premjit, Chairperson of Heirok Part-II GP; Laishram Joykumar, former president of COTA and presently president of AMESTA, Thoubal district; and representatives from various clubs and organisations.
The Convenor of Heirok Apunba Meira Paibi, Khundongbam Gunamani, spoke about the upcoming NRC (National Register of Citizens) and appealed to the public to be cautious. She announced that Heirok Apunba Meira Paibi will be against this move of the government until the NRC is carried out properly. She also urged Meira Paibi units and civil society organisations (CSOs) to work together to address the issue.
The speeches by dignitaries highlighted the importance of Meira Paibi in bringing unity and cooperation in addressing social issues. The event concluded with the distribution of blankets to elderly people from the locality.
