The concluding event of the training programme witnessed the presence of Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel, as the Chief Guest; Smt. Pearson Anal, State Awardee and Secretary of Lambung Village; and Shri S. T. Wanghring, proprietor of Zinnim Enterprise, as Guests of Honour; and N. Deepa, Range Forest Officer/Chandel, as the President.
Regarding the workshop-cum-training concluded today, Dr. N. Munal Meitei, DFO/Chandel, stated that this year, under RAMP, various eco-tourism-related activities have been conducted in Chandel, including homestays, natural dyeing, crafting of wood and bamboo products, and training in the art of traditional pottery. Today marks the conclusion of the three-day Photography and Videography training.
The Forest Department’s objective is to make Chandel a developed district in all aspects. The active participation of the people is crucial for the development of any region. Under RAMP, training has been provided to approximately 350 individuals, including women from the district, across five sectors, enabling many in Chandel to become self-reliant. The government alone can’t provide employment to everyone. Therefore, Dr. N. Munal Meitei urged the public to utilize these RAMP-sponsored training programmes to enhance their skills and contribute to the development of Chandel and Manipur.
Dr. N. Munal Meitei further added that while the training modules provided this time are innovative, they are essential for the growth of the tourism industry. He appealed to the public to utilize the knowledge gained from the training in their future endeavours, contributing to the development of Chandel and Manipur.
S. T. Wanghring, proprietor of Zinnim Enterprise, Chandel, in his speech as Guest of Honour, mentioned that he had previously attended exposure training in various places, including Kaziranga in Assam, under RAMP. He stated that these places in Assam are not superior to those in Chandel. The difference lies in our ability to develop these places. He appealed to the public on the importance of taking advantage of the numerous training programmes being offered by the Forest Department under RAMP.
