Imphal, Jan 31: The 30-day solo dance workshop cum production, organized by the Guru Irabot Institute of Manipur Culture (GIIMC) at Bashikhong Bazar, successfully concluded today.
The event, supported by the Ministry of Culture under the CFPGS-2023-2024 scheme, aimed at promoting and preserving Manipuri Solo Dance.
The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest N. Binolata Devi, a member of Bashikhong Zilla Parishad.
The event was presided over by GIIMC founder and Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Guru Ningombam Irabot. Thang-Ta expert and State Kala Akademi Awardee Puthem Mangi, JNMDA Ras Guru Arambam Apabi, and Bashikhong Junior High School Headmistress-in-charge Reeta Mayanlambam attended as Guests of Honour.
GIIMC Secretary Ningombam Tolensana Meetei, in his closing remarks, emphasized the importance of preserving traditional dance forms and encouraging young talents.
He expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for its support in nurturing Manipur’s rich cultural heritage.
The workshop provided an opportunity for aspiring dancers to refine their skills and deepen their understanding of Manipuri folk dances.
Participants showcased their learnings in a concluding performance, receiving appreciation from the audience and dignitaries present.
