Imphal, June 14, 2025:
In a major security operation, Manipur Police, along with CAPFs, Army, and Assam Rifles, recovered 328 firearms, 591 magazines, and a large quantity of ammunition during coordinated search operations across five valley districts on the night of June 13–14.
As per a press release issued by the Office of the Director General of Police, Manipur Police Headquarters, Imphal, the seized arms included SLRs, INSAS rifles, AK-series rifles, carbines, MP5 guns, LMGs, Amogh rifles, pistols, an AR-15 rifle, and a mortar. Thousands of assorted ammunition rounds, grenades, lathodes, detonators, and para items were also recovered.
The police described the operation as a major step towards restoring peace and public safety. The public has been urged to share information on illegal weapons with the nearest police station or the Central Control Room. Senior officials assured that similar operations will continue to ensure lasting peace in the state.
