36th Loktak Day Celebration 2025 Held at Loktak Lairembi Lampak, Thanga Part-I

The Loktak Lake Development Organisation, Thanga, organized the 36th Loktak Day Celebration 2025 on Tuesday at Loktak Lairembi Lampak, Thanga Part-I, coinciding with Mera Purnima, to honor and promote the preservation of Loktak Lake, the lifeline of Manipur. MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh (28 Thanga A/C) attended the event as Chief Guest, while distinguished personalities including Heisnam Sanayaima Singh, President and Founder President of the Loktak Lake Development Organisation and Ex-Minister; Ningthoujam Dinesh Singh, Up-Adhaksha, Bishnupur District; Ngangom Sanajaoba Meitei, Project Director, Loktak Development Authority, Manipur; M.M. Indrajit @ Meiraba, National Awardee (National Prestige Awards 2024), Indigenous Folk Lyricist; Uttamkumar Ningthoujam, Founder & MD, Elveego Circuits Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru and Chairman, KNK Group, Manipur; Tongbram Sanajaoba, Special Contractor, PWD; and R.K. Birjit, Chairman, CCNCS, Ningthoukhong, graced the event as Guests of Honour.

In his address, MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh lauded the consistent efforts of the Loktak Lake Development Organisation and the people of Thanga for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the ecological and cultural value of Loktak Lake. He described Loktak as the living heart of Manipur — a source of livelihood, inspiration, and pride for its people. The MLA emphasized the importance of community involvement, environmental awareness, and coordinated action among government agencies, organizations, and citizens to ensure the lake’s long-term sustainability.

He further stated that the preservation of Loktak Lake is not just an environmental responsibility but a moral duty for every Manipuri, as it embodies the state’s identity and sustains generations with its natural bounty. Pledging continued support, he assured that all possible measures would be taken to strengthen conservation initiatives and promote responsible tourism and development around the lake.
