Bishnupur, Aug 25: In a bid to improve agricultural practices, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, on Monday distributed battery-operated sprayers and hand weeders/hand wheel hoes to 39 beneficiaries under the second instalment of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) Cafeteria 2023–24. The distribution took place at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
Among the beneficiaries was one internally displaced person currently staying at a relief camp. Officials from the District Horticulture and Soil Conservation Office attended the programme, where District Officer Soibam Sushila Chanu emphasized the benefits of the tools. She explained that the battery sprayers would save time and effort while ensuring efficient farm operations, while the hand weeders would help in effective weed management, thereby boosting productivity.
