Bishnupur, November 17, 2025: The 3rd Quarter District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Bishnupur district commenced today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Bishnupur. The two-day meeting, held on November 16 and 17, is organised by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Bishnupur. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Hon’ble Member of Parliament for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Chairman of the DISHA Committee.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam welcomed the MP and expressed gratitude for his continued leadership, support, and guidance. She outlined various initiatives undertaken by the District Administration, including extensive field visits to identify and resolve grassroots-level challenges. MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh of Thanga AC also joined the deliberations. Reaffirming her commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely execution of government schemes, the DC emphasized alignment with the core objectives of the DISHA framework.
The first day of the meeting included detailed presentations and PowerPoint reports by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Zonal Education Officer, Zone IV (ZEO), Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zilla Parishad, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), and other line departments. These presentations included the Action Taken Reports based on discussions from the previous DISHA meeting held on July 11–12, 2025. In his address, MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam commended the CMO and the DC for their proactive role in securing two upgraded ultrasound machines—one for the District Hospital, Bishnupur, and another for CHC Ningthoukhong—and stressed strengthening NPCDCS to reduce preventable non-communicable diseases.
Encouraging officials to perform to the best of their abilities, the MP emphasized that multiple small, positive changes can collectively result in meaningful transformation. He urged continuous exploration of innovative approaches for community welfare, asserting that targeted ground-level interventions are essential for sustainable development. During the discussions, the MP also reviewed departmental progress and interacted with officers regarding ongoing challenges, assuring them of support. The meeting was attended by constituency representatives, DISHA nominees, SP Bishnupur Th. Shangker Deva, and various District Level Officers.
