In a swift action, Kakching District Police have arrested five individuals in connection with the physical assault on four students that occurred on Thursday night near Bijoypur along the Kakching Lamkhai–Pallel Road.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Kakching SP Dr. Priyadarshini Laishram, MPS. The students were reportedly attacked by unidentified persons, prompting an immediate police response.
According to police sources, the arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Elangbam Arun Singh (19) of Pallel Thong Wangma
- Mayengbam Manglem Singh (22) of Pallel Chandel Lamkhai
- Nepram Jitan Singh (18) of Pallel Thong Wangma
- Moirangthem Chinglei Meitei (19) of Pallel Thong Wangma
- Moirangthem Linthou Meitei of Pallel Thong Wangma
Two vehicles suspected to have been used in the crime have also been seized for verification.
Police stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the assault and identify any additional individuals involved.
