6-Month Free Coaching for Class X Students Launched in Lamlai as JD(U) Leader Flags Education Concerns

Highlighting concerns over the educational condition in Lamlai constituency, Manipur State President Khretrimayum Biren of Janata Dal (United) stated that Lamlai remains one of the areas lagging behind in the education sector.

He made the remarks during the launch of a six-month free coaching programme for students preparing for the 2027–2028 Class X examinations.

The programme has been organised by the Youth & Student Welfare Club at its gym hall located at Sabungkhok in Lamlai Kendra under Imphal East district.

Speaking at the event, Biren appreciated the initiative taken up by the Youth & Student Welfare Club and said such efforts are crucial for strengthening the education system in the area.

He noted that although many students study and manage to pass their examinations, several continue to face difficulties in performing well in various competitive examinations later due to gaps in foundational learning. He stressed that students must strive to work hard from an early stage to build a strong academic base for future opportunities.

Advisor of the Youth & Student Welfare Club, Chongtham Amujao, also spoke at the programme and observed that education has increasingly become an expensive affair, with many students forced to depend on private coaching centres that charge high fees. Keeping in mind the financial difficulties faced by several families, the club decided to organise the free coaching classes to support students who cannot afford such facilities.

Under the programme, experienced teachers from reputed coaching centres will conduct classes on six major subjects for Class X students. The sessions will be held in two batches, morning and evening, to ensure effective learning.

The coaching programme will initially accommodate around 40 students and has already commenced from today.
