Sainik School Imphal witnessed a significant day of institutional review and ceremonial pride as the 84th Local Board of Administration (LBA) meeting and Investiture Ceremony were held on Saturday, highlighting key developmental strides and future plans for the school.
The event was attended by Maj. Gen. Shubankar Basu, General Officer Commanding of the Red Shield Division and Chairman of the LBA, accompanied by Devleena Basu, Chairperson of the Family Welfare Organization, Red Shield Division. The visit began with a wreath-laying ceremony followed by a Guard of Honour presented by the cadets.
The LBA meeting, chaired by Maj. Gen. Basu and conducted by Principal Col. A. Rajiv, deliberated on developmental initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and enhancing the training ecosystem. During the discussions, the chairman expressed satisfaction over the cadets’ growing presence in national-level events, bringing recognition to Manipur, and urged continued support from the state machinery for the institution’s growth.
As part of the visit, Devleena Basu toured the Sainik Foundation School within the campus, planted a sapling at the Children’s Park, and felicitated staff members for their contributions. A key highlight of the programme was the inauguration of newly constructed classrooms, marking a step forward in improving academic facilities.
The day concluded with the Investiture Ceremony for the 2026–27 academic session, where cadets were formally entrusted with leadership roles and responsibilities. Addressing the gathering, Maj. Gen. Basu lauded the school’s commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and character-building, encouraging cadets to uphold values of integrity, perseverance, and patriotism.
Principal Col. Rajiv expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitaries, noting that the occasion served as a source of motivation for the entire school community. He also acknowledged the continued support from the Local Board, parents, and stakeholders in shaping the institution’s progress.
