Imphal, June 11: BJP Manipur President A. Sharda Devi on Thursday received her certificate of election to the Rajya Sabha at the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat after being elected unopposed in the biennial Rajya Sabha election.
Several BJP leaders, MLAs and party functionaries were present at the Assembly Secretariat during the certificate presentation ceremony and extended their congratulations to Sharda Devi on her election to the Upper House of Parliament.
Following the event, Sharda Devi proceeded to the BJP Manipur state office, Thambal Shanglen, where she was accorded a warm welcome by party office bearers, karyakartas and supporters. The gathering congratulated her on her unopposed victory and expressed confidence that she would effectively represent the interests and aspirations of the people of Manipur in Parliament.
Party leaders described her election as a significant achievement for the BJP in Manipur and wished her success in her new role as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha.
