Police arrested two individuals from two proscribed outfits—one an active cadre of PREPAK and another an active cadre of UPPK—on Tuesday from the Imphal East District of Manipur.
The active cadre of PREPAK has been identified as Thokchom Ningthem Meitei alias Lingjen (48) from Keirao Wangkhem village, near TB Hospital under Irilbung Police Station, while the UPPK cadre has been identified as Ningombam Ajitkumar Singh alias Khagemba (49) of Singjamei Makha Khongnang Pheidekpi, under Singjamei Police Station, Imphal West District.
He was arrested from Pebiya Pandit Leikai near Meira Shang under Irilbung Police Station of Imphal East, and according to police, the arrested person has been involved in extortion activities from the general public and private schools and colleges located in the Imphal area.
