In a breakthrough today, the Agartala GR Police apprehended five individuals suspected of involvement in human trafficking from various localities including Kakvore, Lankamura, Sharmalunga, and Shanmura.
This operation, conducted jointly with the BSF and Ramnagar Outpost, followed actionable intelligence that led to the apprehension of the accused who had evaded authorities for an extended period.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Suman Das alias Bikash (39), residing at San Mura near Loknath Ashram, West Agartala, West Tripura; Rahul Das (27), residing at San Mura near Loknath Ashram, West Agartala, West Tripura; Bishwajit Das (49), residing at Sarma Lunga Daspara near Jayant Club, West Agartala, West Tripura; Anivesh Sarkar (31), residing at Sarma Lunga Daspara near Jayant Club, West Agartala, West Tripura; and Jewel Sarkar (26), residing at Lanka Mora Bhumihin Colony, West Agartala, West Tripura.
The suspects are currently undergoing rigorous interrogation by a specialized team at the Agartala GR Police Station. Authorities anticipate further arrests in connection with this case as investigations progress.
The arrested individuals are slated to appear in court today for police remand proceedings.
