AJUCA and JDO Submit Memorandum to Governor Seeking Immediate Action on Delayed PMGSY-III Projects in Jiribam

The All Jiribam United Clubs Association (AJUCA) and the Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) have jointly submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Manipur, calling for urgent intervention regarding the prolonged delay in implementing PMGSY-III projects in Jiribam district. The memorandum was signed and submitted by H. Priyananda Singh, Secretary & General Secretary, Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), Jiribam, and Y. Romen Singh, Secretary & General Secretary, All Jiribam United Clubs Association (AJUCA), Jiribam.

According to the memorandum, despite the Ministry of Rural Development sanctioning PMGSY-III works under the Rural Engineering Department (RED) in March 2024, no notable progress has been made even after more than a year. The organisations stated that this delay reflects poorly on the government’s commitment to advancing rural infrastructure in Jiribam.

The groups highlighted that one key package comprising five road projects worth ₹22.70 crore was re-tendered on 11 September 2025 after the initial tender was cancelled. However, project execution has still not begun, raising concerns that the sanctioned works may face termination if not initiated promptly.

The memorandum also drew attention to reported disputes among local contractors regarding the tender process, conducted as per guidelines of the National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA). With the matter escalating to the court, AJUCA and JDO stressed the need for swift resolution to prevent further setbacks.

The organisations appealed to the Governor to ensure transparent tendering, strict adherence to NRIDA guidelines, and expedited commencement of PMGSY-III works during the current working season so that the rural population of Jiribam can benefit without further delay.
