Kakching, 16 November: As part of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week Celebration 2025, observed nationwide from November 14 to 20 under the theme “Cooperatives as a Vehicle for Atmanirbhar Bharat,” the District Cooperative Office, Kakching, in collaboration with the Manipur State Cooperative Union (MSCU), Lamphelpat, organised a Cooperative Week Celebration today at the Representatives of Lois (RoL) Auditorium, Kakching Chumnang Leikai.
This year’s programme focused on the theme “Strengthening Rural Development through Cooperatives.”
Manipur State Cooperative Bank Limited (MSCB), Imphal President Pangambam Ranjit attended as the Chief Guest, while District Cooperative Officer, Kakching, Karam Dilipkumar presided over the function.
MSCB Vice President Yumnam Subhachandra, MSCU Board of Director Th. Santosh, MSCU Chief Executive Officer Laishram Netaban, and Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Administration), Manipur, Kshetrimayum Bikramjit attended as Guests of Honour.
During the programme, Sub-Registrar of Cooperative Societies, District Cooperative Office Kakching, Thangjam Joychandra, presented the current status of cooperative societies in Kakching district.
Sub-Registrar/Managing Director/Auditor, District Cooperative Office Kakching, N. Tomthinba Luwang, delivered a detailed presentation on this year’s theme, “Strengthening Rural Development through Cooperatives.”
A total of nine cooperative societies from different parts of Kakching district and two outstanding co-operators were felicitated with Certificates of Honour for their contributions.
The nine cooperative societies honoured were:
- Kakching Khunou GP Level Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Kakching Khunou
- Mek Hit Foods Processing and Marketing Cooperative Society Limited, Kakching
- Fidelity Horticulture-cum-Sugarcane Growers Cooperative Society Limited, Kakching Laipham Lotnung
- Kakching Khullen Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Kakching Panjao
- Chairel Gram Panchayat Level Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Chairel
- Multi Pisciculture Farming Cooperative Society Limited, Langmeidong Makha Leikai
- Fish Farming Cooperative Society Limited, Sekmaijin Maning Leikai
- Liushi Irum Fish Farmers Cooperative Society Limited, Kakching
The two co-operators felicitated were:

As part of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week Celebration, MSCU Board of Director Shougrakpam Hemanta announced that acclaimed Manipuri artistes will perform the Sumang Kumhei play titled “Anouba Yenning” (New Dawn) at Kakching Garden, located at Kakching Turel Wangma.
