The All Manipur Women’s Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) celebrated its 36th Foundation Day at G.M. Hall, Imphal, with vibrant participation from members, civil society representatives, and well-wishers.
The programme witnessed an engaging address by Dr. Dhanabir Laishram, social scientist, who highlighted the importance of punctuality, coordination, and discipline in strengthening social movements.
Highlighting the association’s long-standing commitment to women’s empowerment, the event honoured leaders of various women’s organizations and paid tribute to AMAWOVA’s 15 founding members for their pioneering contributions.
Speakers including Prof. Toijam Tampha Devi of Manipur University, S. Memcha of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur, and AMAWOVA President Y. Kunjarani reflected on the association’s achievements and reaffirmed its mission to unite women in the pursuit of social justice and transformation.
The celebration concluded on a joyous note with cultural performances, exchange of gifts, and a vote of thanks, marking yet another milestone in AMAWOVA’s enduring legacy in Manipur’s women’s movement.
