Jan. 29, 2025: The All Moijing Co-ordinating Committee (AMCOC) has strongly condemned an incident that took place yesterday at around 9:20 AM, in which two unidentified armed persons tried to kidnap one person near a fuel station located at Moijing Iroipat in Thoubal District.
Addressing the media today, AMCOC demanded a clarification from the concerned groups or organizations involved in the incident, in which one Mohd Jamir (36), son of Jahur Ali from Moijing Awang Leikai Ethat Mapal, escaped from the alleged kidnappers. The committee also alleged that the two unidentified persons, who came in a black-colored i20 car, fired three rounds of bullets before fleeing the area.
According to the victim, Mohd Jamir, he has no enmity with or extortion demands from any person or group. The incident happened on the road while he was returning home after dropping lunch at his kid’s school near the fuel station.
