AMESCO Celebrates Unity and Cultural Harmony in Manipur

In a display of unity and cultural resilience, the Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) organized its annual event titled “Shajibu Khudol Tamba Eegi Khonggul Liba” at Nungsai Chiru village in Kangpokpi District. The program was held in collaboration with the Nungsai Chiru Village Authority and aimed at strengthening ethnic harmony among the communities of Manipur.

The event was attended by figures including AMESCO President Ibotombi Loitongbam, Nungsai Chiru Village Chief Thangpu, President of Chiru Union Manipur and North East India Neichung, President of Nungsai Chiru Youth Organization Kh. Kamchek, and Chairperson of Nungsai Chiru Women Welfare Dankhothei, who all served as presidium members.

During the event, AMESCO Secretary N. Joy highlighted the importance of fostering unity among the various ethnic groups residing in the state. He reiterated that promoting communal harmony has remained a central focus of AMESCO since its establishment in 1992. The program not only served as a celebration of cultural identity but also reinforced AMESCO’s ongoing efforts to build peace and solidarity across diverse communities in Manipur, he added.
