The All Manipur Muslim People’s Committee (AMMPACO) has called for immediate government intervention to support flood-affected residents across Manipur as the community prepares to observe Eid-ul-Zuha amidst the ongoing disaster.
In a press release issued Friday, AMMPACO President S.M. Jalal expressed deep concern over the extensive damage caused by continuous heavy rains impacting both the hill and valley regions. Thousands have been displaced, with many stranded without access to essential supplies. He appealed to state and central authorities to prioritize humanitarian aid and ensure timely, fair relief distribution to all affected communities.
Despite the hardships faced, the Muslim community is set to observe Eid-ul-Zuha with prayers and simplicity, embracing the festival’s core values of sacrifice, unity, and compassion. AMMPACO extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion, expressing hope that the spirit of Eid will inspire collective resilience and support during these challenging times.
The committee also urged civil society organizations, local clubs, and individuals to actively participate in relief efforts and assist those striving to rebuild their lives. AMMPACO reiterated the urgent need for government focus on flood relief to help alleviate the suffering of affected people.
