April 7, 2026 (IMP): The All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has vehemently condemned the bomb attack that killed two minor children and has strongly suspected that some people are trying to derail peace initiatives just as normalcy is beginning to return.
AMSU President Bruce Pebam, addressing the media at its office in the DMU campus, said that if the government fails to control the Kuki militants due to a lack of courage, then all peace initiatives will not yield good results. He added that the Government of India should carry out a joint military operation against such militant groups to end the issue and bring peace, and questioned the very presence of huge paramilitary forces.
The attack is against the interests of Manipur and its integrity, and the government should take appropriate action against such deliberate attempts to disturb peace. He appealed to all not to create disturbances or inconvenience commuters during protests, and instead to understand the core agenda of the mass movement against such elements.
