Calling for collective resistance against what he described as India’s “black laws” and divide-and-rule policy, All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) President S. Sanjoy today urged the people of Manipur to stand united to protect peace and rebuild the state.
Sanjoy was speaking while extending Christmas gifts and greetings to 12 churches across different parts of Imphal as part of a Christmas outreach programme organised by AMUCO in collaboration with the MSF, COHR, AMAWOVA and Porei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup.
Addressing the media, the AMUCO president said that Manipur is passing through a painful phase, and at such a critical juncture, unity among all communities is essential to restore harmony and shape a new Manipur.
As part of the programme, gifts and Christmas greetings were distributed to churches including MBC Church, Chingmeirong; Tangkhul Baptist Church, Dewlahland; Seventh Day Adventist Church, Tarung; and Koireng Colony Baptist Church, Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai, among others across Imphal.
