Anal Catholic Conference Culminates with Ordination Ceremony and Cultural Festivities

Anal Khullen village in Chandel district witnessed a momentous gathering as the 17th edition of the Anal Catholic Conference concluded with the ordination of Deacon Nula Augustine Anal to the priesthood by the Most Reverend Dr. Linus Neli, D.D., Archbishop of Imphal.

The conference, organized under the theme, “All of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you,” drew participants from eight churches and featured a vibrant array of cultural and spiritual activities.

Hosted by the Anal Catholic Union (ACU), the event was led by Kl. Warson as President, Peter as General Secretary, Angtun as Information and Publicity Secretary, and Mary as Finance Secretary/Treasurer. Approximately 30 priests, nuns, and numerous attendees from various communities graced the occasion, reflecting the close-knit nature of the Anal Catholic community, which numbers around 2,000 members.

The main highlight of the conference was the ordination of Deacon Nula Augustine Anal, marking a significant milestone as the fifth priest from the Anal community. This sacred ceremony was attended by clergy, friends, and well-wishers, celebrating the community’s deep-rooted faith and unity.

Throughout the conference, participants engaged in spirited performances, including group songs, choreography, Bible quizzes, and solo competitions. Additionally, priests and religious leaders shared insights on fostering strong Christian families, emphasizing themes of unity and spiritual growth.

The closing ceremony on Sunday featured a symbolic passing of the flag from outgoing ACU President Kl. Warson Anal to the incoming President, PS. Blessing Anal, signifying continuity and leadership within the community.
