Representatives of the All-Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), along with members of the United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women’s Union (NWU), and Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights – South (NPMHR-S), met with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan earlier today.
As per the official press release issued by PRO Raj Bhavan, the delegation raised serious concerns over the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the ongoing border fencing activities in the hill areas. They expressed that these measures could severely affect traditional movement routes and disrupt the livelihoods of indigenous communities.
In addition to FMR and border fencing, the delegation also discussed a range of other issues affecting the hill areas. While specific details of these discussions were not mentioned in the release, the Governor reportedly acknowledged the concerns and assured the delegation that the matters raised would be examined seriously.
