An anti-drug awareness campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign) was conducted across multiple relief camps in Kakching district. The initiative, organized by the District Administration Kakching in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office, aimed to educate camp inmates on the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of a drug-free society.
Awareness sessions were held at Wangoo Tera High School Relief Camp, Ema Tampha Lairembi Relief Camp, and Wangoo Chigonglei Relief Camp. Officials from the District Social Welfare Office and SAVO resource person Yengkhom Basanta Singh engaged with participants, highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Similar programs were also held on April 1 at SC ST Relief Camp, Kongoi Relief Camp, Wabagai Relief Camp, and Keirak Sanatombi Relief Camp. The campaign emphasized community responsibility in combating drug addiction and fostering a healthier society.
The District Social Welfare Office, Kakching, has been actively conducting awareness and sensitization programs under NMBA across the district.
