Feb. 15, 2025: The CAF & PD Minister, L. Sushindro, personally felt that N. Biren Singh’s resignation from the post may not have been his personal choice, but there may be some underlying reason behind it. He sees the current governance fiasco as a result of pre-planned efforts. Sushindro said there have been many past instances where unknown forces tried to destabilize the government and derail any peace efforts.
He said, “Our former CM, all he wanted and desired was peace. I think he sacrificed himself for peace to arrive. But I appreciate his stand to protect Manipur, which served as a testament to his resignation letter to the governor before he left.”
Expressing his views on the current ruling MLAs’ in-fighting for the CM seat, he said that all the MLAs in Manipur are qualified to become CM, but the post of Chief Minister is only one. What is important is who can sacrifice (for a better Manipur). “In earlier terms, I sacrificed, and others also sacrificed. I can still sacrifice, and it’s the need of the times.”
“I personally feel disheartened to see many making moves to snatch the CM seat, and such things are not desired from my side. But I don’t feel this was the reason for the current mess,” said Sushindro.
