AR Celebrates International Mind-Body Wellness Day with Yoga

Promoting holistic health and fostering communal harmony, Assam Rifles organised comprehensive yoga and fitness sessions at Veng and Sangaikot camps on January 2, 2026. Held in advance to observe International Mind-Body Wellness Day on January 3 each year, the event served as a vital reminder that a healthy mind is the foundation of a healthy body, emphasising the deep interconnectedness of emotional and physical well-being.

The event focused on the vital connection between a balanced mind and a healthy body, encouraging sustainable wellness practices across all age groups. Trained instructors led a diverse group of 70 participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama, and physical exercises aimed at improving flexibility and concentration. A total of 20 officials and troops joined 50 local civilians, including 32 men and 18 women, in a collective pursuit of physical and mental well-being. By emphasising stress management and self-discipline, the session provided local youth and students with practical tools to enhance productivity and emotional stability.

Beyond physical fitness, the gathering served as a vital bridge between the security forces and the local population. The shared participation fostered an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual trust, significantly strengthening civil-military relations in the region. By integrating wellness with community outreach, Assam Rifles continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing peace and a sense of shared purpose within local communities.
