The Mantripukhri Garrison witnessed a moment of pride and celebration today, as the Assam Rifles hosted a felicitation ceremony honouring fourteen exceptional youths from Manipur, including seven newly commissioned officers and seven cadets recently selected for prestigious national defence training academies.
The ceremony was graced by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles, who personally interacted with the achievers and their families, lauding the officers’ perseverance and the crucial role played by parents in nurturing their success. The newly commissioned officers, several of whom are alumni of the National Defence Academy or commissioned through SCO and PCSL entries, were hailed for upholding Manipur’s distinguished military legacy.
The event also celebrated the future of the armed forces, recognising cadets selected for the National Defence Academy, the Indian Coast Guard, and the Technical Graduate Course at the Indian Military Academy. The Inspector General encouraged the youth to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, noting that their achievements reaffirm Manipur’s position as a leading contributor of military officers from the North Eastern region.
