As a part of a PR exercise, the Assam Rifles in Manipur took active participation in the celebration of Lai Harouba, the most significant religious festival of Kwatha Village, Tengnoupal District, Manipur.
According to AR information, the event also witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 100 local villagers, including children, who came together in a vibrant display of tradition, devotion, and cultural unity.
Earlier, before the ethnic strife, the Kwatha Lai Harouba used to be organised in a grand manner, with many local tourists joining the festival rituals, enjoying the local relish, and buying locally produced items like artefacts, vegetables, etc., that supported the local economy. However, the festival began to dwindle after the post-conflict period.
