Feb 27, 2025 : Taking heed of the Manipur Governor’s call for peace and to surrender all looted or illegally held weapons in the state, it is highly speculated that ‘Arambai Tenggol,’ along with other civilians, may surrender over 300 weapons held illegally or through other means today, according to our source.
The deposit of the weapons may take place on February 27 at 1st MR Ground in Imphal, according to the source. However, this information is yet to be confirmed.
The ‘Arambai Tenggol,’ in its memorandum submitted to the Governor on February 25, also included points requesting the Governor to ensure “no arrest or legal action against village volunteers, including Arambai Tenggol, by any commission, tribunal, or court.”
The Manipur Governor, in an order issued on February 20, also assured that “no punitive action will be initiated if such weapons are returned within the stipulated time” (within seven days).
Now, it only remains to be seen—wait and watch this new development.
