‘Arambai Tenggol’ Submits Memo to Governor for Bringing Normalcy

Feb 25, 2025: In a new crucial development, four representative leaders of ‘Arambai Tenggol’ have called on Manipur’s Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and submitted a memorandum this evening at Raj Bhawan, Imphal.

The visiting AT representatives also held discussions with the Governor regarding the prevailing situation, which lasted for nearly one hour.

Post-meeting, the Arambai’s PRO, Robin, stated to the media that it is highly expected that peace will be at the doorstep after arms deposits, and normalcy is also expected to be restored soon with free passage to highways.

He added that an understanding has been reached with the Governor of Manipur, which will be made available to the public later. The memo submitted today was in line with the one earlier submitted to the Governor, which includes: no arrest or legal action against Village Volunteers, including Arambai Tenggol, by any commission, tribunal, or court; abrogation of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) and stringent action against SoO-violating militants; amendment of the MLR & LR Act 1960 for equal implementation in both hill and valley; withdrawal of ST status from illegal immigrants; deportation of all illegal immigrants to their native places; and complete destruction of poppy plantations.
