In an extensive combing operation launched following the firing at the fringes of the Tourbung–Churachandpur border last night, security forces recovered arms, ammunition and IEDs. The recoveries were made today in the late afternoon from the Kangvai area.
The recovered weapons and ammunition include 01 (one) long-range improvised pump, 04 (four) medium-range improvised pumps, 01 (one) medium-range barrel-blasted improvised pump, 01 (one) IED weighing approximately 3 kgs, and 01 (one) single-barrel firearm, along with 17 (seventeen) empty cases of different calibres.
The recovered IED was safely disposed of by the Bomb Disposal Squad. Security in the area has been tightened and is under strict watch. The situation is under control.
