Feb. 6, 2025: In a coordinated operation, security forces in Kakching District seized a cache of arms and explosives from a secluded area in the foothills of the Wangoo Nongyai Hill range.
The operation, conducted between 6:30 AM and 8:50 AM this morning, was led by a combined team of state and central forces under the supervision of SP Kakching, Th. Vikramjit Singh.
During the search, security forces recovered several dangerous items from the area. These included one single-barrel firearm with the body number XJ3780 and one SLR rifle with an empty magazine, bearing the body number ED8641. Additionally, two .36 HE grenades were seized, along with one tear gas grenade and one tear gas shell. The team also found two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), each weighing approximately 600 grams.
All of these items were concealed in a white empty rice sack marked “Superstar.”
A case has been registered at Wangoo Police Station for further investigation.
