Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has launched the Chief Minister Organ Transplant Scheme (CMOTS), offering financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh for kidney transplants, Rs. 15 lakh for bone marrow transplants, and Rs. 20 lakh for liver transplants. The scheme is a revamped and expanded version of the earlier Chief Minister’s Renal Replacement Scheme (CMRRS).
Sharing the announcement on social media, Khandu said the state had already facilitated over 200 kidney transplants in the last seven years and is now broadening support to cover other critical organ procedures.
He also underlined the need to shift focus from treatment to prevention, urging the Health Department to invest more in public awareness, education, and healthy living to build a truly resilient society.
