Assam Rifles Brings Border Villages Together in Sports Fest Ahead of Chavang Kut

In the run-up to Chavang Kut, the post-harvest festival of the Kuki community, the Assam Rifles organised a lively Inter-Village Sports Tournament at D Zalenbung Village, Tengnoupal District, from October 27 to 30.

The four-day event united four Indo-Myanmar border villages in spirited competition and cultural celebration.
Over 1,000 spectators turned up for the opening football match between the Assam Rifles and the host team.

Events like Volleyball, Sepak Takraw, and Athletics saw enthusiastic youth participation. Aligned with the Fit India Movement, the initiative promoted fitness and camaraderie.

Villagers lauded the Assam Rifles for fostering peace, unity, and cultural pride ahead of the festive Chavang Kut celebrations.
