March 3, 2025: In a major crackdown on illegal drug cultivation, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Manipur Police and the Border Security Force (BSF), destroyed 20 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in Khudai Khullen, Chelep, Tengnoupal District.
Acting on credible intelligence, the joint operation involved extensive surveillance and ground action to eradicate the illegal crops. This operation underscores the security forces’ commitment to combating drug-related activities in the region and preventing the proliferation of narcotics.
Authorities have reiterated their resolve to continue such efforts to curb illegal poppy cultivation and ensure a drug-free society.
