9 March 2025: Imphal, Mar 9: Assam Rifles celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 across Manipur, reaffirming its commitment to women’s empowerment and community welfare through various initiatives.
At Pallel (Kakching District), an awareness lecture was held for ex-servicemen, widows, Veer Naris, and dependents, informing them about welfare grants and financial schemes. Seventy individuals, including children, attended the session. A tree plantation drive was also conducted to promote environmental sustainability.
In Pangaltabi (Kakching) and Unopat (Chandel), Assam Rifles organized a cleanliness drive, interactive sessions, and medical check-ups focusing on community well-being and women’s health. Women were honored with gifts, while a volleyball match and a motivational session in Unopat inspired perseverance and teamwork.
In Churachandpur, essential items like solar lights, chairs, plastic wardrobes, and food supplies were donated to a girls’ orphanage. Children participated enthusiastically, expressing their gratitude through smiles and a cultural performance.
These initiatives underscored Assam Rifles’ dedication to respect, equality, and social empowerment, strengthening its bond with the people of Manipur.
