Feb 3, 2025: In its continued commitment to community welfare, Assam Rifles organized an Awareness Lecture on the Ill Effects of Drug Abuse at Thambal Marik Degree College, Oinam, in Bishnupur District of Manipur on 3rd February 2025. The initiative aimed to educate and sensitize the local youth about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of maintaining a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, particularly during the crucial teenage years.
The session saw active participation from students and faculty members of the college. Experts discussed the severe physical and mental health repercussions of substance abuse, while also emphasizing the legal consequences associated with drug addiction. In addition, the lecture outlined preventive measures and the pivotal role that family and society play in combating this growing issue.
To conclude the session, the students took a pledge to stay away from substance abuse, underscoring their commitment to leading a responsible and healthy life.
