Assam Rifles on Saturday joined a Chavang Kut programme organised by Kuki civil society organisations at the HTC Office in Moreh, Tengnoupal district.
The event included a morning prayer led by community elders, followed by cultural songs and dances presented by local performers.
Officials of Assam Rifles attended the programme alongside representatives of CSOs, security agencies, and the district administration. Participants interacted during the event, which organisers described as a routine cultural observance held annually.
The gathering concluded with a community feast in which troops, officials, families, and children took part.
According to a release, the event aimed to highlight cultural traditions and encourage continued coordination between different groups in the border town. The participation of Assam Rifles was noted as part of its ongoing engagement with local communities in the region.
