JAN 25, 2025 (IMP): On the eve of the 77th Republic Day celebration in Manipur, Security Forces recovered one IED (Improvised Explosive Device) and one hand grenade, wrapped in a white polythene bag, from Imphal East district of Manipur.
The item was recovered by a foot patrol team of Assam Rifles at around 12:30 pm and was later defused safely.
The said explosive, recovered by a foot patrol team of 31 Assam Rifles, was removed, and the IED was defused safely at around 4 pm by the AR CEDS (Counter Explosive Device Squad) team in a safer field nearby, while the grenade was retrieved by a team of Manipur Police said to be BDDS.
