Assam Rifles conducted a vital emergency medical training programme for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and residents of various relief camps in Churachandpur District on 22 November 2025. The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA), aimed to equip vulnerable communities with essential life-saving skills during a time when access to timely medical assistance remains limited. The training was part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to humanitarian outreach and community welfare in the region.
A total of 40 women participated in the programme, reflecting strong community involvement and eagerness to learn critical health practices. Among the trainees were two civil doctors and four nursing staff, whose presence enriched the session by fostering a collaborative learning environment. Their participation also helped ensure that the techniques taught could be disseminated further within the community, increasing the overall impact of the training.
During the session, the medical team from Assam Rifles and EHA demonstrated Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other essential life-support procedures required for handling critical emergencies. Participants were taught how to assess patients, administer CPR correctly and provide immediate assistance before professional medical help arrives. Practical demonstrations and hands-on practice ensured that attendees gained confidence in applying these techniques effectively.
