Feb 23, 2025: Following the Governor’s call for the voluntary surrender of arms and ammunition for peace restoration, a total of three weapons, along with ammunition and a grenade, were surrendered before the police authority today.
According to the police, the surrendered weapons include:
i. 01 (one) AK-56 rifle with a magazine;
ii. 01 (one) 2.3.01×7.62 mm MAS Series Bolt Action sniper rifle with a magazine; and
iii. 01 (one) .303 rifle with a magazine.
All the weapons were voluntarily handed over to the SP, Imphal East District, under HGN-PS.
Additionally, under PRT, 02 (two) 36 hand grenades, 30 (thirty) rounds of .303 ammunition, and 11 (eleven) rounds of other ammunition were handed over to the Imphal East SP under HGN-PS.
