Chandel, November 16 : The District Industries Centre, Chandel, organized a one‑day Awareness‑cum‑Udyam Registration Drive on Sunday at Khudei Khunou Community Hall, Chandel district. The programme was conducted under the Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.
Initiated by the General Manager – District Industries Centre, Manipur, the event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Th. Bijoy Singh, General Manager of DIC Chandel, and Merang Morung Maring, Chief of Khudei Khunou village.
Speaking at the event, Th. Bijoy Singh highlighted the benefits of MSME schemes and the credit facilities available from financial institutions. He urged all entrepreneurs who have not yet registered on the Udyam portal to join the drive and avail the RAMP scheme benefits. He also emphasized the role of financial institutions in supporting MSMEs.
In his concluding remarks, Merang Morung Maring encouraged farmers and artisans to register on the Udyam portal to claim government benefits. This was followed by on‑spot Udyam registrations for participants.
The drive drew members of village authorities, SHG representatives, and local villagers, reflecting a collective effort to empower MSMEs in the region.
