Awareness Drive on MSMEs and Udyam Registration Held in Tengnoupal under RAMP Scheme

An awareness programme aimed at strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) was conducted at Laiching Meipou Village in Machi Block on Tuesday under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme. The initiative also featured a Udyam registration drive to help entrepreneurs formalize their businesses and access government benefits.

The programme was organized by the District Level Committee (DLC) of RAMP, Tengnoupal, under the supervision of the General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Manipur. DLC-RAMP Tengnoupal Chairperson and GM of DIC Tengnoupal, Th. Bijoy Singh, presided over the event, which was attended by Lead District Manager Ibochouba and LVAAC President Dangshawa Kopham, among other dignitaries.

In his address, Th. Bijoy Singh outlined how the RAMP project is designed to enhance the performance of MSMEs by improving access to finance and markets, encouraging innovation, promoting sustainability, and strengthening institutional frameworks. He stressed the importance of Udyam registration as a gateway for entrepreneurs to receive government support and avail multiple benefits.

Speaking on the role of financial institutions, Lead District Manager Ibochouba delivered a keynote session on financial literacy. He explained how banks and allied institutions are helping MSMEs leverage RAMP opportunities and also drew attention to flagship schemes offering loans, insurance, and other forms of support to small businesses.

The event concluded with closing remarks by DLC member Kh. Hongsha, followed by an interactive session with resource persons. Participants were also guided through Udyam registration during the programme. Members of village authorities, self-help groups (SHGs), and local residents actively took part, reflecting a collective push toward empowering grassroots-level entrepreneurs in the district.
